TRANSPORTATION

Families have the following three options to get their child to/from camp:

  • Bus from/to Vancouver

  • Air to/from the Kelowna Airport

  • Parental drop off/pick up at camp.

While you have already chosen your selected mode of travel, please read through the following information carefully as this email provides specific instructions.

TRANSPORTATION BY BUS

Transport to Camp by Bus from Vancouver for First Session, Second Session, Kochavim & SIT campers:

Our busses will be departing from the Magee Secondary School parking lot off of West 49th.

To avoid crowding, families will be asked to arrive in shifts and use a drive-through method to drop off their child. Please note the following:

  • You are asked to enter the parking lot from Maple Street where you will be checked in by a volunteer.

  • You will then be asked to pull ahead and open your trunk.

  • Volunteers will take your luggage out of the truck while you give your child a quick hug goodbye.

  • Your child(ren) will then head to their assigned bus independently while you exit onto Laburnum Street.

Our Camp busses will arrive back at the same location between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm on the final day of each session. We will send progress updates by email.

Transport to Camp by Bus from Vancouver for Giborim campers.

Our busses will be departing from the Magee Secondary School parking lot off of West 49th at 7:00 am.

Please arrive the bus location by 6:40 and place your child’s bag under the bus. You can then stay with them until it is time for them to board at 6:50.

Our Camp busses will arrive back at the same location between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm on the final day of each session. We will send progress updates by email.

TRANSPORTATION BY PLANE

We are pleased to offer transportation services to and from the Kelowna airport for families from outside the Vancouver area.

If your child is travelling to or from camp by plane, please ensure that we have your child’s flight information.

All children travelling by plane must have appropriate identification. Please consult with the airline to ensure all requirements are met.

If your child’s luggage is overweight, the camp will pay the additional charges on your behalf at the airport and then charge your credit card on file upon return to camp.

TRANSPORTATION BY PARENT

Children can be dropped off at Camp between 11:00 am -11:30am on the first day of each session.

To limit potential exposures to our staff, families will be asked to use a drive-through method to drop off their child. Please note the following:

  • Upon arrival, drive up the road to the “Diamond Knesset” where you will be asked to stop and open your trunk.

  • Volunteers will take your luggage out of the truck while you give your child a quick hug goodbye.

  • Your child(ren) will then go with your counsellor while you leave camp.

Please note that we are unable to offer camp tours or have you walk your child to their cabin during camper drop off. Please prepare your child for this in advance.

Children being picked up from Camp must depart between between 7:30 am – 8:00 am on the last day of the session. To limit potential exposures, we will be unable to offer camp tours at this time either (sorry)!

A few other notes:

  • All campers travelling by bus or plane must wear a N95 or KN95 throughout the duration of their journey to camp (and in the airport if applicable). This is VERY important.

  • All campers travelling by bus should bring a filled water bottle and nut-free snack with them on their journey.

  • Campers with allergies and medications should carry their Epi-pens and meds in their backpack so they have it with them on the bus.
