GENERATIONS CAMPAIGN
Camp Hatikvah is thriving. This summer, over 725 people will participate in our programming; a number that reflects not only our popularity, but the profound and irreplaceable role Camp Hatikvah plays in shaping Jewish life in our community.
This success is both a source of pride and a call to action.
Our programs have grown and evolved in ways earlier generations could not have imagined, and demand for what we offer has never been greater. As a result, our physical infrastructure is now under increasing strain. The gap between the experience we strive to deliver and the facilities that support it is widening and must be addressed.
Many of our buildings were designed for an earlier model of Jewish camping and no longer align with how camp operates today, some face significant capacity pressures, and others have functional limitations due to failing infrastructure.
To remain a leader in Jewish camping, Camp Hatikvah must invest in rebuilding or renewing core spaces to meet growing enrollment needs and to reflect the excellence, care, and spirit that define the camp experience.
With this in mind, we are launching the Generations Capital Campaign to expand capacity, strengthen program delivery and build the foundation required for Camp Hatikvah to thrive now and for generations to come.

The Chadar
Despite our deep emotional attachment to the current Chadar, we have reached a point where its limitations can no longer be ignored. Neither the dining hall nor the kitchen was designed to support the size and needs of our growing community, and the infrastructure, now more than 70 years old, is failing and must be replaced.
The new Chadar will be approximately 9,000 square feet (3,600 square feet larger than the current building), creating a spacious and dynamic environment where campers can move freely, dine comfortably, and come together to cheer, celebrate, and build community.
A modern kosher-style kitchen will enable staff to prepare nutritious, delicious meals more efficiently, while ensuring safe, allergy-aware options for campers and counsellors with diverse dietary needs.
Generous covered outdoor areas will extend the warmth and spirit of the Chadar beyond its walls, creating flexible spaces for gathering, meals, and connection throughout the day.
The Bayit Tzevet
Camp Hatikvah’s site was originally designed for a very different staffing model — one that relied primarily on teenage and young adult counsellors, with only a small adult presence.
Today, creating a safe, high-quality camp experience requires supporting a significantly larger team of dedicated adult professionals, and our facilities must evolve to meet that reality.
The Bayit Tzevet will provide welcoming, purpose-built accommodations for 20 additional staff members, including key professional staff, our volunteer doctor and their family, and members of our kitchen and support staff team.
Providing appropriate accommodations for these essential staff members is a critical investment in operational effectiveness, organizational sustainability, and Camp Hatikvah’s ability to continue delivering the extraordinary camp experience we are so proud of.

The Moadon
The building that currently houses the lounge and washrooms for our S.I.T. (15-year-old) campers, as well as shared shower facilities for multiple age groups, is now close to 40 years old. Over time, its infrastructure has significantly aged, with failing plumbing and ongoing maintenance issues that make renovation essential. The S.I.T. lounge itself also requires upgrades to remain a comfortable and welcoming space for our oldest campers.
As part of this capital campaign, the building will be fully renovated and reintroduced as the Moadon, creating reliable, modern facilities alongside a revitalized gathering space designed specifically for our senior campers. This investment will ensure a more comfortable, functional, and welcoming environment that supports both daily life and meaningful connection.
The Kochot Site
The Kochot cabins, built nearly 25 years ago, were designed for a different era of camp and no longer reflect current enrollment needs or how our teen campers live and connect today.
As part of this campaign, we will renovate and reconfigure all 26 Kochot cabins to create more comfortable and inclusive living spaces.
Designed similarly to the S.I.T. cabins, these updates will better align our physical capacity to demand and support a more positive, connected experience for our 13 & 14 year old campers.
As part of this project, the Kochot washrooms and showers will also undergo cosmetic upgrades, improving their overall comfort, functionality, and appearance.

Camp Hatikvah is a place where lifelong friendships are formed, memories are made, and a deep sense of pride in Jewish identity, community, and tradition is nurtured.
While it is the people who make Camp the extraordinary place it is, our physical spaces are essential to supporting and shaping that experience. To meet growing demand and uphold modern standards of care, safety, and programming, we must invest in our facilities.
This is a defining moment for Camp Hatikvah - and an opportunity to help shape its future!
Together, we have the opportunity to ensure that Camp Hatikvah continues to grow, thrive, and serve our community for generations to come

We have shared the above images to provide a visual overview of the projects.
Please note that the images for the Chadar and Bayit Tzevet are preliminary architectural concept drawings developed to assist with feasibility review, budgeting, and fundraising discussions. As is typical with projects of this scale, the designs remain conceptual in nature and will continue to evolve throughout the detailed design, engineering, and permitting process.
The images relating to the Moadon and Kochot cabin renovations are AI-generated conceptual renderings created to help communicate the intended direction and overall feel of these spaces.
While all drawings and renderings remain subject to significant change, we hope they provide a meaningful sense of the vision and community impact we are working to achieve through this campaign.
